A Touch of Blush Down by the Bay

Welcome back FI readers!

I’m all rested up and enjoyed the first full week of my summer off work. Drawn to places and things I’ve been wanting to do for relaxation without having to constantly check the time on my phone. The gift of time! I am a piscean, not sure if that’s the reason I am naturally drawn to water even though I’m petrified of it. I invest in the most fabulous bathing suits even though I don’t swim, only in the bath tub,

hehe.

I felt like a morning coffee and stroll on the docks. Probably read a book and God knows my list of books to read is getting longer by the day. Life’s simple pleasures. It was everything I hoped it would be. Coffee, a walk and a great view of the water, can’t think of a better way to start the day.

Honestly I felt like mounting a dock hammock (was that even allowed at this location), peel off my layers because I came prepared for the morning chill and enjoy a lazy rest of the day. Watch the sun break all the way out from behind the clouds and watch a beautiful sunset at the end of the day. Thoroughly rest my body and mind. Instead I people watched, took pictures of birds, of fancy boats and ultimately put my heels on, had my pictures taken and left before it got too busy. What do you do for relaxation?

A midi pencil skirt = love! Try as I may I can’t explain how much in love I am with this look. So much so it's been like my uniform in the past few weeks paired with the lovely peach necklace. I wore the blush bolero to ward off the morning chill and break up the black. A little color infusion in the form of a red box clutch brightened my look as well as the gloomy morning.

Just like leggings most of us own a ton of pencil skirts. Pencil skirts are arguably the most versatile pieces and are no longer limited to the office. Take your pencil skirt from business to street and on to a date night by simply switching up key pieces.

Wear with a silk shirt a clutch bag, sexy strappy heels and some bling for a date night. Pair your pencil skirt with a peplum top and bright lipstick for a cocktail party. Add some sparkle in the form of sequins or even glitter to give your look an oomph, and add a cocktail ring to the mix as well. Tone down the sequins for a look that is a little more casual.

Throw on a bright color blazer, one that contrasts your shirt preferably and a pair of pumps to hang out with the girls. A pair of ankle boots and a trench coat takes your pencil skirt from a summer to winter chic look. Wear your trench unbelted for an effortless look that also shows off your top.
