Miley Cyrus to Release Duet with…Britney Spears

Hot on the heels of her racy “Wrecking Ball” video, Miley Cyrus announced that she is teaming up with Britney Spears on a track on her forthcoming album, Bangerz.

On Tuesday, Cyrus tweeted a list of the thirteen songs that will appear on her forthcoming record due out October 8th. Included on the album are the singles “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop,” along with collaborations with Big Sean and Nelly, but most interesting was track number three: “SMS (Bangerz) feat. Britney Spears,” a sure-to-be intriguing joint effort between the two former Disney stars.

Fans willing to shell out for the deluxe edition of the album, will also get three tracks penned by Pharrell: “Rooting For My Baby” and “On My Own,” and “Hands in the Air,” featuring Ludacris.

The announcement of the album’s tracklist comes a day after Cyrus released her controversial video for her album’s single, “Wrecking Ball.” The video set a record with more than 19.3 million views in one day. The single is currently No. 1 on iTunes.

Much like Britney before her, the 20-year old Cyrus has been chipping away at the last vestiges of her Disney persona. The transformation became apparent in the videos for “We Can’t Stop” followed by her eyebrow-raising (and twerk-filled) performance on the MTV Video Music Awards show.

“I feel like I can really be myself,” Cyrus told Billboard. “I really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now.” On Monday, Cyrus also debuted her rap career with the release of her collaboration with Mike WiLL Made It, “23.”

For those not suffering from extreme Cyrus fatigue, the young star will host and be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 5th.
