It's a Soup Kind of Day

Summer has disappeared... fall has crept into our neck of the woods.  Brrrrrr... I love fall.  It's my favorite season, but I prefer it to start in October... not September!  Today I took the cotton blanket off our bed and put the down comforter on.  I packed away most of my summer clothes and hauled out the sweaters and jeans.  And I made soup and muffins.  Because it was cold and that's what we do when it's cold... hunker down and eat comfort food!  My kitchen looks pretty much like this when I'm cooking and/or baking...

Today's soup was ground turkey in chicken broth, with spinach, chives, roasted tomatoes, garlic, oregano and shell pasta...

There is nothing like these crackers with soup... they are so good, we have them as a snack!
The recipe was from a blogger named "The Jolly Bee".  She is no longer blogging and I sure do miss her.  She shared some great recipes, book suggestions and crafts.

My dear friend, Holley gave me some rhubarb so I made Aunt Norma's Rhubarb Muffins.  The recipe was from All Recipes.com.  They were delicious!

The recipe makes two dozen muffins.  I used my silicone muffin tin for the first time today... I really thought it would melt!  But, of course it didn't, and the muffins popped right out, so I will definitely be using it again!  I hope that you are having a bit of Indian Summer, wherever you are!

Thanks for dropping by...
